Weather

Temps were very cold, rising to single digits at best. Winds were light from the NW. Clear skies in the early morning built to overcast by the afternoon, with light snowfall and trace accumulation.

Snowpack

Storm snow (~6”) sits on stout melt-freeze crusts on all but the shadiest slopes. Lots of scouring on steeper slopes down to the crust. No signs of instability all day except one localized collapse on a flat slope (storm snow collapsing on the recently buried near surface facets) Clear skies in the morning allowed views of the southern Ruby Range, Peeler Basin, and Anthracites. No recent avalanche activity observed. Scouring evident on many S and SW slopes (but not all). No snow transport observed today.
