Snowpack
Overcast and warm with a high of -4°C. Moderate gusts blew down valley from the NW starting around 14:00 as the temps dropped and a couple flakes fell from the sky. Fast skiing on new near surface facets with decomposing surface hoar on top. Very supportive snow with ski pen 10-20 cm and boot pen of up to 45 cm. Zero signs of instability except for previous avalanches over the past several days. Freshest one viewed on the steep West flank of Baldy above the Paradise Divide Road. Sharp looking crown perhaps 100m wide in a subtle crossloaded feature. Another slide in the Climax Chutes looked to have released on Saturday? Crossloaded gully ran close to 2000 vertical.
