Weather

Broken skies, with periods of few with sun and moderate solar radiation. High temp at study plot 29F and at ridge top 19F. Ridge top Winds were SE throughout the day gusting in the 20’s then strong winds picked up around 13:00 from the south gusting in the 40’s with significant snow transport and huge banners off high ridges and peaks

Snowpack

Settled snowpack with ski pen on westerlies between 8-12 inches. Southerlies had thin crusts. No signs of instability or avalanche activity.
