Overcast with light snow. 10"-12" of new snow had fallen in the last 36 hours.
Snowpack
Fresh 10"-12" of new snow on top of consolidated layer. Base layer was loose corn layer. Total depth was approximately 3.5'-4'.
Avalanche
One large avalanche triggered by snowboarder. Estimated size is 300 yds wide. Total run 500 yds. Snowboarder was caught and managed to stay on top. He was carried downhill to the point where pictures were taken from (300yds?). There were no injurys as a result. Slide was down to surface. Snowboarder was in sight of partner (above) at all times.
