Weather

Approximately 16 inches of fresh fell in the past 48hrs. This was accompanied by strong West winds. Today was mostly clear with only a few clouds and calm winds. The max air temp recorded at the top of Aspen Mountain was 27F with an overnight low of 16.

Snowpack

We felt collapses in several large, flat meadows. The buried surface hoar, or perhaps they were some other sort of near surface facets, was easily isolated on single column compression tests, and also with the shovel tilt test.
