zero F start at 9am and about 15 at 2pm. Full sun. Light NW wind at midday otherwise calm.

Snowpack

Even snow from recent storm activity with little drifting. Dug small pit at 11,600' on West aspect just below treeline. Top 45cm fresh and light. Next 40cm heavier but still crystals with no noticeable boundary layer in between. Soft slab deeper than 85cm. No rain/icy layer between soft slab and fresher snow. Total depth to ground 225cm. Cornices in area large but no breaking activity in last 24hr observable.
