Clear day - until 1400 when a high overcast started to move in. Still a few breaks in sky cover by 1700. Windier than anticipated in the alpine-still heavy loading occurring at the head of the cirque in Delmonica Gulch. The wind is looking for dirt on the west side of Chicago Ridge
Snowpack
HS at 10,400 average of 40-50cm. HS at 11,200+ average of 70 to 80cm. East through north aspects had pretty consistent structure of a basal melt freeze crust with 2.0 FC to 3.0 DH over the crust. Generally stronger mid-pack with 1.0 NSF underlying newly transported wind slab and DF.
