Ski touring in the alpine of the powder valley area today. Strong south winds with active snow transport and wind loading throughout the day. Substantial cornice growth at treeline / alpine. Walking on grass / rock at times in the alpine. An interesting Size 3 Na / Nc slab avalanche in the alpine 1600m North aspect. It went wall to wall and to ground on a horseshoe shaped feature. Debris followed the gully feature down to Bennet lake. Pics / location attached. Some huge cornices out there! Size 1 Na slab from a wind loaded slope covering the skin track / sled access a few hundred meters above the highway.
Weather
Strong south winds in the alpine with active wind transport.
Avalanche
Na Nc to ground during recent storm cycle. Crown line was wall to wall in a horseshoe feature.
