Pleasant day. Skies were breaking somewhat, with low clouds clinging to the nearby peaks, some periods of sun, and intermittent light snow showers
Snowpack
Snow from the past week's storms account for around half of the total snow depth. These layers are showing signs of compacting and rounding, and hardness slowly increases with depth to the old/new interface, around 50 cm below the surface. See profile for details. Test results produced failures at the recent snow/old snow interface, and on the older depth hoar layer closer to the ground, but no propagation was observed in ECTs. I experienced one small collapse and no movement on test slopes. Some small, loose activity was observed along the road. Notably, these slides were running on the 12/23 layer and not stepping down into older snow.
