Weather

Graupling and blowing with obscured skies. Strong SW winds and grauple and snow falling about 1" per hour

Snowpack

6" HN of dense snow and grauple with about 5' of total snow depth. New snow was not sticking well to the old surface (FCsf) with a very easy shovel tilt and ECTN7 observed at the interface. New snow, despite the grauple, was fairly cohesive and slab-like and 4F- in resistance. At the road level winds seemed too strong to effectively load start zones with grauple spouts off the cliffs. Near the start zones it appeared that the dense new snow was heavy enough that the strong winds were effectively loading the start zones.
