Weather

Clear and calm, temperatures in the teens and winds overnight out of the southwest.

Snowpack

The new snow depth was 4 inches, and the snowpack has been unreactive lately except for 2-inch wind slabs yesterday. We are skiing with the persistent slab problem on our minds but have seen no signs of it, which is normal for that problem.

Avalanche

Today, we saw 2 small slides on east-southeast-facing wind pockets. The largest was 1 foot deep and 50 feet wide. It ran 100 ft and was a soft wind slab. I triggered it on a ski cut, and it pushed me down-slope a bit. The slide was at 10,400 ft, east-southeast on south Soda Mountain.
