Weather

New snow from 6 to 8 inches. Snowpack 60 cm deep in shady below treeline areas and closer to 45 cm on easterly open slopes.

Snowpack

Travel was all below treeline in easterly non wind-affected terrain. No signs of instability observed. New snow seems well bonded to old snow surfaces. At elevations around 11k there is a thin crust about a foot down with facets below. The crust is harder on due east and more fragile as you turn slightly north from east. At lower elevations in thicker trees, the snowpack is mostly right side up with a softer faceted layer mid-pack. No propagating results on this layer in tests. No weak basal facets on this easterly well below treeline slope.
