Snowpack

At the top of Sister 6, just adjacent to the exploder 6HI, the HS was just over a meter, and consisted of melt forms over about 10cm of rounding facets. The upper 10cm of the snowpack was wet. The rest of the snowpack was moist, with vertical ice columns observed down to around 15cm. On south to east aspects near and below treeline where I traveled, the snowpack was wet and beginning to lose cohesion. On steeper rolls with these aspects, it was possible to get the upper snow surface to slide with a little ski pressure.
