Weather

Warm day with mostly sunny skies, a few high clouds, and mostly light winds some moderate gusts at ridgetop.

Snowpack

Below treeline snowpack is becoming unsupportable. Above treeline is staying cool with just the top few inches softening all the way to 13,000 feet. Near treeline is in between- supportable to skis but sinking in to the snowpack just enough that I was concerned for wet slabs and avoided some steep southerly, open, near treeline terrain. Shady slopes still have cold snow except for below treeline where all aspects are getting wet.

Avalanche

Six significant avalanches from the March avalanche cycle. It is suspected that all of these ran around March 9th when other paths near Highway 82 ran. All six of these avalanches cleared significant timber with some old conifers in the mix. All of these avalanches ran approximately 2000 vertical feet from ridgetop to the creek.
