Snowpack
Snow was heavy and ~15cm deep while touring on N facing aspect heading above Lake Agnes (~11,000ft). Pit dug the next day @ 10,600. NE aspect. ~30deg slope. -CTM12, 10cm -Hard ice layer of ~1cm at 10cm down mark. -Faceted snow underneath ice layer.
Avalanche
No one was injured or caught in the slide. Remaining two skiers descended without incident. Skier triggered avalanche occurred about half way down the chute when the first skier descended. -Broke 20-25cm to a hard, ice/hardpack layer. Top layer was heavy. Assume extra snow in chute due to blown-in buildup. -~40 degree slope -Slide broke across the entire chute, about 50ft wide. -E, ESE facing aspect. -~10,800ft. -Location: Lake Agnes (40.478870, -105.905287)
