We skied out of the Jacques Lake hut and saw the aftermath of a natural release in one of two main runout zones that crossed our winter path. For that and the two preceding days, we saw 30-45 minute cycles of sunny and dumping snow (accumulating around 5-7 cm over the three days). The ski in on Friday, March 24 was icy and sloggy while the other two days were great for AT skis and OK on Nordic ones. The general snow depth was 70-80 cm.

The Jacques Lake area cycled between very sunny and dumping snow several times. When we passed through here, it was around every 30-45 minutes, and happened about 3 times. Visibility changed quickly, so we barely got a photo and did not inspect how recent it was. It may have slid on March 25 or 26, but suspect it had more to do with sunlight rather than the few cm of snow. Based on the one photo, the slab looked to be around 1 m deep.
