We had a great trip doing Yoho Traverse from 10.03 to 14.03 2023. Conditions to 13.03 were the standard low snow, stable with some wind effect on S aspects which allowed us to enjoy the descent from Guy hut and gain Isolated col ( thanks in part to extant uptrack and moderate cons). The descent from isolated was sporty to say the least but we arrived at Stanley Mitchell to enjoy the fruits of about 45 cm of pow donkey goodness that fell in primarily windless conditions. The winds did pick up by end of the outing on 13.03 which gave rise to slab generation but we found no bad layers on our limited forays up on S side of MacArthur ( glades with some open sections). The Clopsy designation stems from the long exit out Tak Falls road in deep snow - not so much a clip-clop as more Clopsy… the snows certainly got more shallow as we dropped altitude on road to Monarch. O yeah- free sausages to next party who hits Guy hut ( they’re in a colder area so hopefully they add to the experience)!
