Weather
Windy and cool above treeline. Balmy in wind-sheltered areas near and below treeline.
Snowpack
Drifting snow formed thin new wind slabs that were easy to trigger, but generally less than about 6" deep on test slopes. Found a few places with very active wind loading with drifts over a foot deep which I didn't mess with. Saw old evidence of large to very large Persistent slab avalanches below corniced ridges which likely ran during last week's wind event. Near and below treeline, it became easy to push small wet avalanches on steep sunny test slopes by mid day.
Avalanche
A few natural wind-slab avalanches that broke recently. Evidence of some old very large avalanches from last week.
