Weather

Warm with temperatures on Grand Mesa 36F, Paonia 65F, and McClure summit 49F by midday. Creeks above Paonia Reservoir along SH133 were brown and up. Increasing cloud cover and increasing warm wind form the South / Southwest.

Snowpack

Observed snow depth 111 to 90 cms. Profile in a shallower location above the Cliffs consisted almost entirely of coarse grained faceted crystals. No failure or propagation observed in an extended column test. A thin melt-freeze crust was observed on all aspects this morning except for due North. Snow in the Cliffs is much harder than the profile location on the flatter terrain above and generally looks plastered in but still shallow with many anchors now poking through.
