Recent Rockfall Event

Early morning on Kerkeslin Falls today.
A significant rockfall occurred between the short step and walk to upper ice.

Lots of fresh trees and large rocks. The trail was covered over and no new tracks so suspect this happened late evening yesterday or overnight. Possibly from daytime heating.

-20 at 7am this morning. Climb is in wet but good condition.

Makes me think a lot about overhead cliffs and rapid afternoon warming.
