Overcast most of the day, then becoming broked towards 3pm. Snow was very light and winds were light to moderate mostly terrain driven in the basin, but ridge tops winds were mostly out of the west.
Snowpack
Below treeline, the snow depth was 60 to 100cm deep, with 30cm of new snow forming a slab that rests on top of weak facets at the bottom of the snowpack. We targeted a northwest slope to see if a slab was forming. We found medium to easy propagation test results. These results happened below a small stiff curst sitting on top of very weak facets. Near treeline, snow depths are slightly more, ranging from 60 to 165cm. While snowpit observations from a north slope did not reveal any significant results, a mid-pack facet crust combination at 60cm from the ground could cause a problem later on.
