Cool and breezy to start the day, but temperatures were warming quickly. Some high thin clouds in the early morning gave way to clear skies by midday.
Snowpack
I looked at the snow structure in both the West Lime path and Henry Brown. In general, the snowpack in this zone was a lot further along in the transition to spring than expected. West Lime had about 120 cm on average for HS, with about 5 cm of F-hard 0.3mm facets overlying a stout, right-side-up snowpack consisting of various types and sizes of facets, but fairly homogenous and not reactive to snowpack tests. Henry Brown is melting out and has transitioned to an isothermal, spring snowpack. Snow depth varied from 0 to 30 cm and consisted largely of an I-hard melt-freeze crust with about 8 cms of K-hard melt forms near the ground. Plenty of bare patches forming in sunnier areas on the slope.
