Skiing in the Summit Creek and Taiya area. Similar conditions as reported by others in the recent 4-5 days: a supportive crust is present in most location (breakable at lower elevation and not as 'icy' in high alpine), 10-15 cm of light dry snow on top of the crust that is light and fluffy and great to ski in places, and wind affected in wind exposed area and ridges (soft to hard slabs). Snow on north facing glacier was only minimally affected by the wind which was surprising. Surface hoar (3-4 mm) growing in that area. Evidence of numerous avalanches (mostly size 1 - 1.5) from warm-up 2 weeks ago or small pockets of windslad that slid on crust (1-2 days old). Triggered two small 0.5 soft slabs while skiing down. Day was cold and moderate wind down low but surprisingly almost no wind up high. Good day before forecasted strong winds of sunday. We felt that stability was mostly good as long as staying away from windloaded aspects, but that may have already changed.
