Windy and cloudy following a storm the previous day that brought about 12 inches of snow.

The snow from the previous day had been blown turning the snow into a hard wind-pack, with some areas of deep wind blown snow.

The avalanche in the picture is East ~1500 feet down the ridge line from Coon Hill peak.
