Weather
Temperature around freezing during the day, with cold clear nights that support a kinetic regime. Clear to partly skies with light winds near and below tree line. Light winds (3-8mph G15) around peaks and ridge lines.
Snowpack
Widespread weak facets 30-50cm above ground on all aspects. Slab not hard enough to communicate propagation on W aspects. Wind slabs exist primarily on E, SE and S above tree line. Wind slabs blending into the snowpack structure and will become stubborn in sensitivity with time. Mid-pack failure and propagation results on E-S aspects.
Avalanche
HS-ASu-R2-D1.5 >ATL S. aspect on 20181214. Observation reported by Ms. Hodgetts. C-R1-D1 NW of Buckeye peak off of the ridge. C/SS-N-R2-D2, 12,600 ATL South Aspect. Observed from ridge above question-mark bowl. On the Eagle/Lake county boarder, N.39.3638, W-106.2441
