Weather
Blue shoes to the west, some dark clouds sitting on the Northeast horizon. Approximately 30 degrees at the trailhead (10,400 ft) decreasing to the high teens with SW gusts in the 20's on the ridgline (12,000 ft)
Snowpack
Extensive, very hard wind slab on exposed East facing aspect above treeline (11,200 ft). Depth varied from 0 to 40 cm, with extensive bare patches on the ascent.
