Weather
Mild sunny morning after a large storm. 20 degrees. Sunny. East side of hogsback. 7000ft elevation.
Snowpack
“North side” of spines had 2 snow layers, totaling around 50-75(ish) cm in spots. “”South side” of spines only have the snow from this past storm. 30cm
Avalanche
Skier from another party started down the spine and kicked off a sizable slab on the second turn. Looked like it Broke on the old / new snow interface. The skier then favored the south side of the spine and skied the rest of it safely (and with style). The Slab ran into the steep gully (major terrain trap) and could have been extremely bad had the skier not been skiing the rib smartly. Even silly little in town lines could go bad if precaution aren’t taken. Please feel free to reach out for more pictures or questions.
