Temperatures in the teens with moderate west and southwest winds in the alpine kept things feeling cool on Saturday, an kept surfaces cold. Skies were overcast with flurries picking up in the afternoon. Large, fluffy stellar snowflakes were low-density and added up to a few inches by the end of the day but provided no new real load on the snowpack.
Snowpack
Snowpack depths here are similar or a little thinner than the Red Mountain Pass corridor. Below tree line, southerly slopes had a HS a ranging from 140 cm to 170 cm. The early-season drought PWL ranged from 100 cm to 130 cm below the surface on this aspect, but I was bot able to impact this layer in tests. On northerly aspects below tree line, the HS ranged from 170 cm to over 200 cm deep. Here the early season PWL was showing sings of healing, but deep tap tests cold still pop out planar failures on this layer
