Weather

Clear skies. Morning temps in the teens climbed into the 20s at Pass level. Strong SW winds continued to move available snow. 2" of new snow with 0.15" of water content measured this morning at the CAIC Snow Study Plot. Storm total; 13"/0.6". Snowfall totals from recent 4 day cycle; 21"/0.9".

Snowpack

Severe wind scouring on windward slopes and widespread wind loading anywhere that offered some shelter from the prevailing SW winds. Below treeline terrain was much less wind affected.

Avalanche

Observed natural avalanche activity along the highway corridor was isolated and relatively small. No recent activity was observed in the above treeline terrain in the Weminuche Wilderness.
