Snowpack

Highly variable. You could trudge through rock hard wind slabs to recent soft slabs and then break though to the ground on weak facets crossing a 50 meter slope. Our pit showed two layers of buried near surface facets that were reactive in stability tests (ECTP23), sandwiched between pencil hard slabs. Lots of suspect unsupported wind slabs hanging in steep terrain around here (see pics).
