Weather
Overcast skies with a snow rate near S2. 12.8F degrees with around 5 inches of new snow. Winds were light from the southwest with blowing snow near ridgeline.
Snowpack
The new snow and wind over the long storm have not created many new avalanches. Below treeline on a south aspect you can expect to find a fairly right-side-up snowpack for the upper half of the pack. The depth hoar is now buried over 100cm deep and is difficult to initiate failures. On a northeast and east aspect near treeline the snowpack is almost 2 meters deep. There is a layer of buried Near-Surface Facets that is concerning but is also 65cm deep and becoming difficult to trigger. The storm seems to have come in with denser snow at its start and dried out as the storm progressed leaving behind a well structured layering scheme.(See Snowpilot) Nothing alarming in test results.
