Weather

Clouds and temperatures increased during the duration of the tour. Gusty winds observed at higher elevations.

Snowpack

Recent winds have heavily affected exposed slopes. Many windward slopes were bare and areas of wind-drifted snow firm. Snowpits continue to show weak-layers at the bottom of the snowpack that fails on compression test. Extended Column tests failed and propagated when the snowpack was less than a meter. South facing near and above treeline slopes are bare. Gusty southwest winds continue to move snow near ridgelines. Sun and warm temperatures heated the surface in the afternoon on sunny slopes. No cracking or collapsing. No observed new avalanche activity.
