Weather
Sunny and mild San Juan day.
Snowpack
The new snow came in below the threshold to cause a major spike in the danger. Snow fell on a variety of hard surfaces including old wind slabs and sun crusts in many places. We saw lots of long running dry loose slides in these areas, especially above treeline. We expect to see more of these with the warming trend this week. New snow is low density and not very slabby nor reactive. The structure remains very weak, on shady slopes below treeline, but faceting has eroded the old slab in many locales, therefore decreasing reactivity there.
Avalanche
We saw lots of long running dry loose slides, esp on sunny slopes near and above tl.
