Weather

Mostly sunny day with scattered clouds moving across the sky throughout the day. Temps in the valley were warm teetering on hot when the sun was directly overhead.

Snowpack

Snow surfaces facing the sun were wet and warm. Crusts had formed in most areas and only sheltered north facing slopes at higher elevation remained soft. Probing through the snowpack was easy at lower elevations confirming the lack of stiff slabs. Observations around the zone at higher elevations showed that windward start zones and southerly aspects were blown out of void of snow. Leeward aspects especially in the northern and western parts of the range still looked deep and loaded.

Avalanche

A handful of small Wet Loose avalanches were observed in above treeline, steep, rocky races, mainly around large cliff bands.
