Weather

High thin clouds helped temper the sun on an otherwise warm and sunny day. Surprisingly calm at ridgetop.

Snowpack

Dug in two locations near and above treeline on NE and N slopes. In both cases the mid and upper snowpack has pencil to knife hard layers of aged wind-slabs overriding weak facets and DH near the ground. The weak basal layers are slowly healing, but remain fist to 4F in hardness. Main take away is that it would take a large trigger or hitting a shallow weak point to create an avalanche. ECTX results
