Ventured up the Elk River Valley yesterday. We were able to travel in runners on a snowshoe trail to the slabs below Landslide. Then put the planks on and headed up to Foster Lake. Original plan was to ski the south col of Foster. Due to increasing deterioration of weather and visibility we decided to ski open slopes close to the trees on north and east aspects. We saw one natural avalanche on a steep 50/60degree North facing slope of Slocomb Ridge and lots of debris from the last storm cycle from like during the storm and on Friday. Also observed some significant wind from thw NW as the day progressed. It was a great day moving in the hills!
