Stayed at the Anderson Hut January 11-14th. HS ~330cm around the hut. Lots of digging to get into the cabin. We dug and had some resistant planar results with the new storm snow down 30-40cm. That surface hoar layer looked to be down about 120cm. No results on this layer even on a deep tap test. The pack seemed to be bonding quite well considering all the new snow and warming temps. The freezing stayed below 1000m before and during our time at the hut. We saw a natural when we first flew in on the big top run across the valley. Looked like about size 2.5 initiated by a cornice and was less than 24hrs old. While we were there we saw no other natural activity and only triggered very isolated wind slab on the first 10cm. Considering the forecast of high high high, we felt pretty fortunate to be in a zone with such a solid pack. With that said we avoided >40 degree slopes and convex features. The skiing was mostly amazing dry powder and the trail breaking was hard. When we skied out on the 14th the freezing level was around 600m, which made for a challenging ski out on the logging road down to valley bottom.
