Adding photo and details to the existing report of an avalanche triggered by a skier on the solar slope at Boom Lake. Wind-loaded lee slope released when skier turned near the top of the convex. The solar effect throughout the day created a slab slide hazard, the avalanche carried past the lower ski group. The total run distance was approximately 200 m. Lessons learned: - Upper group yelled, "Avalanche" allowing the lower group to get to a safe location because the slide was silent. - Lower group regrouped in a safe location on the treed edge of the slide path - Cautious while navigating solar affected slopes - Avoid skiing wind loaded and convex terrain - Avoid skiing above other groups
