Road report: gets difficult around 40km mark. Snow is deep, soft and road is icy. Road hasn’t been plowed. We couldn’t go further with a truck and a sled on the back. I was under the impression it was plowed to 42.5. It was not. Snow report: sledded to the 45km parking lot and skinned from there. Weather was warm, around -2. Got colder as we got higher. Wind was there with some gusts. Halfway up (1900m) the snow was soft on the sides of the sled track, with a crust around 20cm deep. Skinned all the way to curve ball. Wind was gusting strong and moving snow around. On the ski down Curve Ball there was a wind crust which was quite punchy at times and made the skiing quality mediocre. Beneath the crust was nice powder. The further into protected terrain we got the quality of snow improved (20-30cm powder). Best skiing was the traverse back to the main open area and skiers right down to the sled trail. Coverage was good. No coreshots or trees hit! Weather: cloudy. Windy at times. -2 @1900m No sign of instability noted, even with some bike sleds ripping the face. Wind affected snow was visible on upper Lee faces and wind crust/slabs could develop and be a concern with additional loading. Only saw one other group out there.
