Quick pit for a Compression test on the Lee side of a convexity above tree line. We expected to see wind loading and wanted to confirm on a small isolated area before continuing further into the alpine. Test results - CTE 3 SP 25 cm, Wind Slab CTM 13 SP 45cm, Wind Slab CTH 28 BRK 65cm, Facets on wind crust After our pit results and variable snow conditions during the skin up we decided to ski below alpine where we could identify and avoid wind loaded terrain.
