Clear. Warm. Very light winds. I would have taken a sun nap if I brought a pad. 11k-12k elevation NE aspect

Snowpack

NE aspect with a mix of sheltered terrain and leeward pockets. Variable HS~1-3ft. Still riding over a tiny bit of rocks. Digging hand pits everywhere we found widespread basal facets. Shady features had larger crystals and more sugary facets. On solar exposed features the facets were less pronounced and a little stiffer. On a small leeward ridge we had a 6-12" windslab that produced a large wumpf and shooting cracks, triggered from about 50ft away. Terrain was not steep enough to slide. In shady and sheltered areas it seems that the slab is almost gone. No cracking or whumpfing, the entire snow pack was very loose and felt nearly uniform except for the recent snow that is still decomposing and a quarter inch of old wind skin in the middle of the pack.
