Snowpack

9100', ESE Aspect. New snow load of 20+" and high water content over the past week. Snowpack is very unstable. Lots of collapsing and high energy whoomphs that shakes snow off trees. Collapsing is propagating up to 100' radius in the trees

Avalanche

I observed 2 natural avalanches off CR 76 about 1 mile below the town of Pitkin. One was fairly large, probably R2D2 that slid to the ground. About 100-150' wide, ran about 150 vertical feet. The second was much smaller, but on a similar aspect. Ran only about 50'.
