Once leaving the valley to start the climb towards 8812 by the standard route the first 150 m of the uptrack left a lot to be desired. It was somewhat icy with low traction with a lot of off camber sections. If you traverse lookers right about 2/3 up the 150m you will find a much better up track. From there the rest of the climb was straight forward. On the final approach around the lip of the bowl there was significant wind slab with made the uptake a bit slippery. No observed overhead hazard at the entrance of the bowl. We skied skiers left of the bowl which had deep powder down the entire bowl. No rain crust or soft slab noted.
