pit in a north aspect on Numa nw 3, around 11:30am on March 19th 2020. Aspect N Elev 2300 Angle 35 degrees Temp - 9.2 celcius SKY overcast PRECIP s less then 1 Winds light SW Hs 190 15cm on soft storm snow on top a settled 4f to pencil+ midd pack. At 150 down the basal facet interface here has started to become more prominent then earlier months. Resistance is 1f currently for bottem 40cm. But much weaker and larger crystal size then the dense slab above. Sheltered tree line terrain near the north chute start zones Sth BR down 50cm on old surface hoar interface Ctn Dte2 SC down 150 from surface on basal facet interface 40cm of the ground. On side notes. Crusts on SE through NW aspects upto and possibly higher the 2300m by the tree line ridge tops there. Crust on north aspects dissappear as soon as 1600m or earlier. Valley bottem crust had broken down by 12:30pm. - 10 at the car in the morning and 0 at 1pm on the way out.Cornices have very large moats currently and require careful attention walking on ridge crests. Cornices in this area of the region are also very large atm. There also has been some odd large tracks in the area over the last few days. Bear spray for valley bottem locations such as these may be soemthing to start considering with the warming arriving next week. Also the awakaning of the dpwl in this region is soemthing I'm going to be very mindful of in the coming week around this region.
