Sunny day, exact temperature not known but felt like 60s. No wind. Heard loud whumpfs earlier in the day on lower angled south aspects.
Snowpack
Consistent deep layer with crust at about 30cm for most of the climb. Harder pack at higher elevation. On south aspect where slide occurred, very deep and soft snow.
Avalanche
Monday, March 14 at 6:31PM. Group of 4 skiers. A skier triggered avalanche at 10,845’ elevation on a north aspect in moderately dense trees. First skier drops in and safely surpassed the first 30 meters before working to skiers left around a group of trees. Second skier follows and ends at similar point. First skier continues traverse the past group of trees and as they turn themselves down the slop they trigger a small avalanche. The slide broke underneath the skiers feet carrying the skier 20 feet down the slope. It broke about 30 feet between the flanks and ran about 150 meters. Crown/flanks were approximately 3.5 feet, and cut down to a bed surface of rock and ice and a depth boat. The skier was not buried or injured and the remaining 3 skiers followed down the path of the slide. No one was injured.
