Weather

Viewed Cameron Pass from South Diamond Peak north to Point 11,588. Morning cloud cover gave way to scattered clouds by 2 PM. High of 30F, windy at all elevations with gusts over 30mph at treeline (10,900’).

Snowpack

Yesterday’s snow was already firming up with widespread drifting of previous tracks. Snow depth at 10,500’ of 30-40 cm had settled to <20 cm. No collapse or fractures noted. After 2:30 PM significant wetter snow on east and south aspects, real mashed potatoes.

Avalanche

None observed on South Diamond, North Diamond or Point 11,588. After 3 PM numerous wet point releases noted on the southern aspect of Diamond Peaks along Highway 14, none reaching the highway at this time.
