Weather

Clear cold start. Warming rapidly with a light breeze on the ridge tops

Snowpack

14" - 16" of fresh light snow on the north aspects. Warming and still creamy snow on southern aspects. Low angle below tree line had multiple whomping on southern aspects

Avalanche

Skier triggered slide on north/west aspect below tree line in a non windload area. Slab avalanche broke on new snow layer 14"-16" deep. Slope propagated around 60ft. Skier took a 400 ft ride through a high consequence zone being partially baried and walked away with minor bruises. Relatively R1.5 D1.5 in size.
