Weather
Sunny, calm, and quite warm.
Snowpack
It didn't take long for sunny slopes to warm today with a bright sun and warmer temps. Most of the new snow on slopes facing east to south to west changed rapidly from cold to warm pow well before noon, and steeper terrain around the valley started to shed. We dug a few pits around 11600' in open, well timbered areas and found depths in the 180-200+cm. Similar to other regions with a deeper snowpack, these areas had a robust slab around 100cm thick, and very few reactive weak layers. Basal facets were gaining strength and were at least 4 finger or greater in hand hardness.
Avalanche
Lots of loose dry or loose wet avalanches raining down from steep rocky slopes at all elevations on east to south to west-facing slopes
