Mostly sunny, and cool with strong and gusty south winds.
Snowpack
The main story today was WIND. Strong and gusty southerly winds were busy blowing and drifting snow at all elevations- most significantly, near and above treeline. Some snow was simply sublimated, but some was certainly landing in lee northerly start zones. The surface varied from stiffened to thin slabs forming. Only the most densely treed areas were unaffected. While the wind was intense, it does not seem to have greatly increased the danger through the day. The snowpack continues to show fewer and fewer signs of instability, but the weak structure remains...
