Weather

1230pm - Elev 11950 on a south aspect NTL. CLR, No Precip, HS 40cm, Boot Pen 30cm, Ski Pen 1-2cm, Moderate Winds from West, Light blowing snow at ridge tops.

Snowpack

Skied 2-4cm of remaining new snow on supportive crust. Snow surface remaining cool above treelin, warming to wet on slopes NTL and BTL with more direct sun exposure. Small roller balls in isolated areas.

Avalanche

Observed 4 small (D1 or smaller) cornice breaks in the Buckeye cirque. Appearance of recently built cornice failure entraining new snow below the cornice and running a limited distance in the path. NC-SS-R1D1-I x 4. See images and map.
